National Scheduled Castes Finance & Development Corporation (NSFDC)

  1. The National Scheduled Castes Finance & Development Corporation (NSFDC) was set up in 1989 as a "Company not for profit" under Section 25 of the Companies Act, 1956 with the objective of financing income generating activities of SC beneficiaries living below double the poverty line limits (presently Rs.40, 000/- p.a. for Rural Areas and Rs.55, 000/- p.a. for Urban Areas). NSFDC Assist the target group by way of loans & advances, Skill Training, Entrepreneurship Development Programmes and Providing Marketing Support through State Channelising Authority (SCA)
  2. An amount of Rs. 520.80 crore has been made available to the Corporation upto 31st December 2009, as equity share contribution, towards the authorized share capital of Rs. 1000.00 crore.
  3. NSFDC may provide term loan upto 90% of the cost of project, subject to the condition that State Level Channelising Agencies contribute their share of assistance as per their schemes and also provide the required subsidy besides tying up financial resources from other source, if any.

During the year 2009-10, an amount of Rs. 44.00 crores has been released as equity support.
